Signs of Cults

Many cults use many persuasion techniques the wrong way.  I think it is important to understand exactly who they are and what they do.  Usually a cult is a group of people organized around a powerful authority figure.  Cults use psychological games and mind control over members and potential members.

Many ask what is the difference between a cult and a church.  The difference is the goal of the group.  A church gives to the community and is altruistic, cults only serve their own purposes, usually the cult's leader.

What are the 5 signs of Cult influence?

  1. Inability to make decisions with out consulting the cult's leader

  2. Personality changes and a dramatic change in beliefs, attitudes and values

  3. Not willing to attend family gatherings or events

  4. Change in eating habits and sleeping patterns

  5. Basic black and white reasoning about the world
